The camera has a log file feature that produces a record of the pictures taken
and the metadata received over its serial port or network link. Each line of the
log contains a system time stamp that has millisecond resolution. The time stamps between
GPS fixes and the time stamp of the picture taken allow interpolation of the fields to get a
more accurate fix.
The log file can be set to off, of, or verbose. "Off" is no logging, "On" starts logging images and
GPS data, and "Verbose" records not only the data but any serial port errors or unexpected events.
The verbose mode is used mainly for debugging.
